Join me as I introduce WHAT’S YOUR POTION? LIQUID REFRESHMENTS TO NOURISH BODY, MIND AND SPIRIT. In this talk, I delve into the ancient secrets of potion-making to nourish body, mind, and spirit. I show how mindful consumption can help a person attain self-fulfillment and self-realization through the enjoyment of smoothies, teas, coffees, cocoas, soups, and sauces. The culinary, medicinal, and folklore attributes of common botanicals are discussed as well as the role played by color symbolism, the four elements of nature, and the five senses in creating dynamic potions. Recipes are shared and best of all, DELICIOUS SAMPLES WILL BE SERVED!

THE ISSY CASTILLO CRIME FICTION SERIES
In this talk, I describe how I came to write this series. Besides the mystery, I show what the series has to say to women, especially Latinas, and men as well about how to lead a happy, fulfilled life. I describe my former career in academia and trip to Spain (the latter, for book #3). I share how I’ve incorporated my own experiences with a women’s group into Issy’s Bolder Women’s Detective Team to attain a happy, adventurous, fulfilled life. Refreshments, will be served, including a few recipes from the books. And I’ll answer any questions you may have.
